This video was created in tribute to my son Kofi who was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, a rare cancerous tumor in the eye. Although my son lost his left eye during treatment he is now perfectly health, and the light of my life. The imagery in the video was intended to symbolize our life now moving forward as we walk towards a brighter future. In my mind it was also as a reassurance to myself that my son would have the same opportunities as us all in the future. As he moved closer to regaining his health it became easier to look past the aesthetic loss of his eye knowing he would still experience the same joys and wonders of this world as we all do. The red shirt that is seen throughout the video portrays Kofi from the present through the future. It is my symbolism of him still having the opportunity to fall in love, get married, grow older, be a father, be a grandfather, and be a part of the feeling of love and of family.
